Join the Springboro Chamber of Commerce for an educational panel discussion aimed at those in the "Sandwich Generation" – individuals balancing the care of aging parents while planning for their own future. This informative session will feature expert panelists who will discuss key topics related to estate planning and resources available for those assisting elderly loved ones.
Panelists and Topics:
- Rachael A. Houck, Certified Elder Law Attorney and Owner of Houck Menninger Law, will cover the five essential estate planning documents everyone should have to be prepared for incapacity or death. She will also discuss strategies for asset protection to help avoid financial strain due to long-term care needs.
- Sharon Zimmerman, Community Outreach Liaison with Ohio's Hospice and Certified Advance Care Planning Facilitator, will address the importance of advance care planning, offer advice on having difficult conversations with family, and explain the hospice Medicare benefit.
- Rachel Healy, Owner of Senior Care Authority, will highlight the role of a senior advisor in planning for long-term care, including insights into various senior living and care options, as well as strategies for funding long-term care.
- Mark Healy, Owner of Senior Care Authority, will discuss the sensitive issue of older driver safety, focusing on how to approach the challenging conversation of driving retirement with aging loved ones.
This event provides valuable resources and practical advice for those navigating the complexities of caring for aging parents while managing their own estate planning needs.
